| We've been in Nashville for a few days now. We arived on Wednesday and Jordan, who I met at university, met us at the airport.
Shell has been singing a fair bit which is great. She played on Allan Tomkins Guitar showcase Thurs, Fri, Sat morning at the Sheraton downtown. Tomorrow will be the last of these shows which have been great fun. Thanks to Allan and Barb for inviting us to perform.
Shell's Thursday and Friday night acoustic songwriter gigs went down really well and she can't wait to perform at the Bluebird Cafe on Monday night where artists such as Garth Brooks got their start.
We went to Tootsies Orchid Lounge on Thursday which was really cool. Shell told me its where all the classic country stars used to hang out after gigs. This is the bar where young Willie Nelson gave Patsy Cline the song Crazy and got his start in the world.
After here we went into a bar where they had 'Wanna B's' karaoke. Shell got up and did a song there so I got a photo with the sign over her head.
Spent last night at Kate's house with her boyfriend, his brother and others drinking margaritas by the pool. Kate is also another friend from uni.
We played catch in the pool and had an American "grill out" with ribs and burgers.
Its so hot here and great fun. |
