Well today started out pretty well with Jody Maphis coming to play lead on the Tomkins Showcase this morning. For those of you who don't know Jody has played lead guitar for heaps of famous people including Barbara Mandrell. His Dad, Jo Maphis, was also a guitar legend in country music...as was highlighted later in the day at the Hall of Fame Museum.
Although Trent forgot to get a photo, it was still pretty amazing to sing Faded Love with Jody Maphis playing lead.
After the showcase we went and checked out the Charlie Daniels museum which was VERY redneck and then we wandered down to the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Unfortunately we didn't get there until after 3 o'clock which left us nowhere near enough time to really get into it(it closed at 5 pm).
In the photos you'll see what we mean and this was just a taste of what we saw.
The night ended with Jordan and Ben taking us to Silverados dancehall and bar. This place was the most typical redneck bar. $7 all you can drink with pool tables around a big dance floor where everyone linedances and two-steps until 11pm when they suddenly switch to rap music. It was pretty funny and we had a great time. |
