| | Fiona and Jay met us at the Sherlock Holmes Pub before dinner
|
|
| Well we didn't feel anything this morning cos we didn't wake up til midday!
Poor Fiona and Jay, they had to go to work but I think we caught up a little on our last night in New York when we only got 2 hours sleep and we didn't even drink!
We managed to get ourselves going and in no time we were on the tube heading for the London Eye. First we decided to see if we could have a look through the Houses of Parliament but it was sitting and that would have been long and boring. So we thought we would have some lunch and headed for the grassy grounds of Westminster to eat our chicken sandwiches Trent had made. I know what you're thinking, its a tough life but someone has to do it!
Once we had filled our bellies, we set out across the bridge to the South Bank of the Thames. The line wasn't too long for the tickets to the london Eye and there was this young couple fron Norfolk who had been knocked back because they weren't 18 so we said we'd get their tickets for them and chatted away.
The view from the capsule was amazing. We could see all of london just about. St.Pauls Cathedral, Tower Bridge, the big guerkin looking building near where fiona works, Buckingham Palace and so much more.
Once back on solid ground we decided to go looking for the Sherlock Holmes Pub neqr Trafalgar Squqre. It was a little corny with so called "artefacts" on the walls and in the restaurant upstairs although we only looked from the window so we wouldn't have to eat anything. There was a fake dog's head in a glass cabinet...aka, the Hound of the Baskervilles, etc.
Fiona and Jay came to meet us and after a pint we adjourned to the underground in order to make our way to a curry House in Wood Green. Wood Green is the suburb near where Fiona and Jay live. They live in Palmers Green. Anyway the curry was amazing and we all stuffed ourselves. It was great. And again, we went home and stayed up talking and Fiona and I tried to write a song. I don't expect you'll see our names up for Apra song of the year any time soon. It was still a good night. |
