We met Sherlock...

 ...and Elvis

 Saw some expensive games

Well the title pretty much somes Friday and Saturday up but I suppose I'd better go into a bit more detail for you.

Friday we didn't do much because as I explained earlier, Australia made it out of their group in the first round of the world cup after drawing with Croatia. And this happened Thursday night so and no one really got much sleep especially Jay who had about 3 hours sleep over the past 2 days.

Not surprisingly we didn't even make it out of Wood Green on this particular day. We had a massive fried up breakfast at The Goose Hotel for £3 each. Then we went to Dixie Chicken and sat on the internet all afternoon.

We got some cheese and bicky's and returned home to wait for the arrival of Trent's mate, Evan, who is now working as an Aero Engineer in Cambridge.

We went to the Pub for dinner and then decided to head home where we had alcohol and cards. This would be a much less expensive way to enjoy the night.

Needless to say another late night resulting in a headache in the morning.

A headache in more ways than one though...

Unfortunately in the morning we awoke to find Evans car had been broken into during the night. Sorry Evan...next time we'll come to Cambridge.

After another £3 breakfast at 2pm, Evan left Wood Green, no doubt forever, and we set off for 221B Baker Street. The home of the Sherlock Homes Museum and gift shop and also the Beatles and Elvis memorabilia shops. No we didn't make it to Abbey Road and I don't want to hear another word about it!

We then made our way to the Saxophone shop and workshop that Jay works at and met up with Jay and Donny for a pint at the old english pub around the corner.

After a bit, Fiona and I decided we would leave the boys to it and go to Selfridges for a look around and then Trent decided he would come cos he wanted to go to the massive toy shop, Hamley's on Regent street.

Fiona and I left Trent in the Starbucks at Selfridges while we rummaged through the supposedly sale priced items of the huge fashion store. Trent had given me a £20 limit. Thats AUD$50. We didn't buy anything.

Dissappointed, we collected Trent and made our way to Oxford Street where I had another disappointing London fashion experience. This time it wasn't the price but the sizing. Now I know I'm no waif at the moment but a size 18 top when I'm normally a size 12 or 14...that's rediculous!

So with the shops starting to close all around us, we made our way to Hamleys. This toy shop has 6 levels and is just a few years older than our country!

We didn't have much time but I assured Trent we'd be back tomorrow.

We then made our way back to Donny's place which incidently is in one of the oldest parts of London just near Oxford street and is in a building that is also older than our country.

Donny's was great. Not only because Donny has a great taste for wine and an infectious personality but the appartment is filled with old books, clocks, bird cages with fake birds that you wind up and other very English decorations which made you feel like you'd gone back in time.

Fiona, Jay, Trent and I all left Donny's just in time to get the late night tube and head home. Straight to bed. Tomorrow was going to be a big day.
