Approaching the Chalet de Versaille(Palace of Versaille)
Our picnic by the Grand Canal
Almost at the back of the Palace
Today was one of those days where we are reminded of just how amazing this whole trip really is.
We checked into our new Hostel this morning then caught the train to the Chalet de Versaille. Once we arrived we went for a walk through the town to gather supplies for our picnic then tried to find a way in(that wasn't going to cost us).
We finally found an entrance to the gardens and no one was around to tell us off so we entered the gardens of Versaille. We walked throught the maze of paths untill we came across the huge cross shaped canal or lake. It was beautiful with the woods into the distance and the Palace up to the other side. This is a home for a king!
We ate our picnic and just chilled out and Trent fed the ducks almost out of his hand. He was trying to make them canible because we had duck pate for our bread.
After lying in the shade by the lake for a while we thought we'd better make our way up to the Palace. It was extremely hot but the views were magnificent and the gardens and orangery were spectacular so we soon forgot about the heat.
We finally found the ticket office to go inside and once we were in it was just like being in a fairytale. Bed chambers of Louis XIV and his wife and son. The hall of Mirrors which Trent took a video of but the photos and video can't do it justice.
Once we left this place we were exhausted from the beauty that we'd seen.
