Jul 4, 2006 - Barcelona, Columbus, More Soccer
We arrived in Barcelona after an interesting train journey from Paris.

It turns out the bitch who we booked the tickets with put us in first class seats instead of a second class sleeper, which means we payed a ton be aúncomfortable all night. Luckily we noticed when we first booked that she'd sent us to Madrid not Barcelona.

Oh well, we arrived and walked to our hostel down La Rambla, the main street.

Once we dumped our bags and had a nap we headed off again down La Rambla checking out all the sights.

At the bottom of La Rambla, meeting the water, is the big Columbus Monument, which is pretty cool. a big Column with Columbus on top. Then we headed over the big shopping centre on the pier and had a quite coffee.

We had a nice Spanish Dinner and headed to the Aussie pub to watch the first world cup semi, Italy vs Germany. An Italian couple ended up sitting next to us and the guy, Simone bought me beer and apologised for 'The Penalty' so i decided its ok for Italy to win after all. They did and La Rambla was a mess of crazy drunken Italians singing songs and insults, which we actually had a translator for, which was cool.
