| Jul 22, 2006 - Auf Wiedersehen Vienna
| Well this was our last day in Vienna, and was really awesome.
We just walked around the Aldstadt, or old city, and enjoyed the sights.
We started the day off with a visit to the Maria Callas exhibition, who was a famous Opera Singer in the mid 20th Century. This was really interesting, though everything was in German.
Next we went the Beautiful Blue Danube river and strolled along an island canal in the middle that seemed to be set up for big parties every weekend. There were dozens of little bars all along both sides of the canal.
Afterwards we walked through one of the many city parks to the library, which is an awesome building to look at, and then in and around the other buildings and museums in the area. We saw some guy busking who'd pulled a piano apart and was playing the strings like a Xylophone.
Later in the evening we went to see a Mozart opera in the park in front of the town hall, known funnily enough as Rathaus. |
